As a small market research agency, we found ourselves overwhelmed with day-to-day tasks. We knew to scale our agency, we needed to incorporate technology and start automating as much of our work as possible. Four years later, our existing platform has created incredible growth for our agency and more breakthrough moments for our clients. Now, we are working to make this platform available for all voice of market researchers.
Meet Our Team
What started in the 2000's as a small Father & Son research agency is now an experience team that is on a mission to accelerate the insights industry’s journey from status quo answers to market truth.

David brings years of experience building successful consulting and marketing firms to his work with Wick. A proven leader, David uses his intimate knowledge of the role market research insights play in building winning strategies and great content to execute the company’s vision of creating a market research platform for the emerging market of insight seekers that are ready to bypass expensive inefficiencies and get straight to the insights that drive better decisions.
2014
Long before we were Wick, everything got started as with a father-son team. Don and David Burrell ran a full service consultancy with a focus on non-profit marketing. Frustrated with the costs and speed of outsourcing our polling, we started to add public opinion research as a part of our offering in 2011 and it soon became our flagship offering.

With over 32 years of experience in the political and public affairs markets, Don founded his consulting agency in 1992. Don’s knowledge and relationships have been a constant source of help as Wick works to provide the best possible polling and message testing solutions in a field where he ran his business for over 3 decades. A Tennessee Grad and Marine, Don lives in Atlanta with his wife, Carol. They have 3 children and 4 grandchildren.
2018

Chris serves as the company’s President and Head of Product. He works with our Chief Innovation Officer and Chief Technology Officer to design new ways to make Market Research better. Chris started seeing how some of the fastest growing software companies in the world were built and sold products. His experience in SaaS sales and exposure to scalable products help him oversee the direction of the company, with an emphasis on building technology that solves big problems.
2018
Needing an easier way to acquire datafiles for both polling and marketing, we put a new team together with Wick's cofounders Blaise Pericas and Chris DeVed. Together, we started building a database management platform and storefront that gave agencies fingertip access a 280M person database.

Blaise is a highly skilled designer and an innovative pioneer. He leads the company's effort of internal research and development for future-facing product concepts. He advocates for the end user, a design fanatic, and a pioneer of a unique approach to innovation that integrates design-thinking and rapid prototyping into a user-centered, research-driven model. Blaise comes from a background of digital brand development at both WPP and Publicis; he has developed digital experiences and advertising for various brands including HP, AT&T, and Motorola.
2021

Janey Hughes has worked in the polling and research sector for 8 years and is currently the Director of Sampling at Wick Insights. As a part of leading the research team, she is committed to expanding Wick Insights’ sampling techniques, technology and vendor partnerships to open new pathways to high quality survey response. She resides in Georgia with her husband and son. Janey holds a bachelor’s degree in English from The University of Georgia.
2021
Realizing how beneficial the technology was to our research agency, we created a team that was dedicated to the continued automation of the complex, multi-partner process of executing Voice of Market research. This effort helped our agency grow by incredible rates (inc 1155 in 2021).

Peyton is a Director of Research at Wick and has been on the Wick team for 2 years, holding roles on both the sampling and research teams. Prior to that, she worked at 160/90, a marketing agency, on the client services team. She graduated from University of North Carolina in 2015 with a degree in Journlism.
2021

Haley graduated from Syracuse University in 2015 with a BS in Communications. As a Division I student athlete, she spent her time as a member of the cross country and track teams. Upon graduation, Haley worked in different industries in event management, marketing, and operations. She joined Wick in March 2022 as our new Research Associate on the Wick Insights Team. Haley resides in Atlanta, GA with her boyfriend and two sweet pups.

Stephanie runs business operations here at Wick and is dedicated to maximizing business performance in order to reach company goals. She uses her eye for detail to ensure that operations run smoothly. Prior to working at Wick, Stephanie managed a large restaurant where she gained most of the skills needed for management, including how to organize and lead people.

Rob has founded, grown and sold a number of research businesses since the 1990s. As CEO, he led Grail Insights' rapid growth. He sold it to Escalent in 2021, where he now holds positions as Chief Strategy Officer and Board Director. He has volunteered significant time to industry development, including multi-year roles on the boards of the Marketing Research Association and Insights Association, where he was Chair. As Wick started to take steps toward its vision of becoming a platform offering with unlimited upside potential in the market research industry, Rob was ready to “roll up the sleeves” and join Wick as a board member.
We decided to bring the amazing benefits of Automation and Enrichment that power our agency to the rest of the Voice of Market research world. We brought in the industry, technology, and marketing leadership needed to make it happen.

Angie is dedicated to creating content and digital outreach that is impactful and engaging. Her ability to cut through the noise and reach your ideal customers makes her adept at building B2C and B2B marketing campaigns. She has a history of successful Digital Marketing and eCommerce development focused on organizational success; audience buy-in, and deploys a data-driven approach to executing successful brand and sales strategies.

Brian is an experienced CEO and CTO who most recently sold his customer feedback company, Listen360 in 2020. Brian initially started advising Wick in May 2022 and has recently agreed to join as our new CTO to create and execute a plan to usher the product to the market. Brian’s role will be to drive the technical strategy of the company, with a focus on scaling the product and leading our engineering team.

Clay is a former Arizona State University Software Engineering student, and a Tech Talent South Alumni. He began his career as an apprentice building Ruby on Rails MVPs at Polar Notion of Atlanta, GA. After his apprenticeship, Clay worked for five years as an engineer at Listen360, where he was a significant contributor to their SaaS product. Following his work at Listen360, Clay spent time working as an engineer at Abound on their e-commerce platform.

Board of Advisors

A highly visible and well respected technical software executive, Eric Musser closely advises Wick on identifying and executing technical solutions that can have transformative benefits for its customers. Currently Eric Musser works with Pegasystems as part of the acquisition of OpenSpan in April 2016, for whom he was the CEO. Over the past 20 years he has built a successful track record of leading multinational technology companies, with a proven formula of creating value for both customers and shareholders. A graduate of Pitt, Eric lives in Berkeley Lake, Ga with his wife Kara.

With three successful exits under his belt as a Founder CEO and five exits as a director or advisor, Jim has helped guide Wick during both the early stages and growth stages of its development. In addition to Jim’s success, as a well-known adviser and investor in the Atlanta technology community, he has helped pull a team together that Wick can contribute to much of its success. A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Jim lives in Atlanta with his wife and 3 boys.

From 1983 until his retirement in 2002, Reed was a Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), where he quickly rose in the firm to become Vice Chairman and a member of C&L’s global leadership team. Following the merger of C&L and PWC, he was appointed PWC Vice Chairman with responsibility for Retirement & Health Plan Consulting & Outsourcing Worldwide. In 2002, Reed became an operating executive for a number of companies that experienced highly successful sell events under his leadership. A Tennessee Grad and Marine, Reed lives in Atlanta with his wife Cathy. They have 3 children and 4 grandchildren.
